This past Sunday I made my own version of a green smoothie from the Minimalist Baker. I don't make smoothies very often, but I might have to start making them more often because not only are they healthy, but super filing too. Of course the added greens are a perk. I was hesitant about adding peanut butter to a smoothie, but it is a game changer! The sweet and salty taste was subtle, yet addictive. It helped curb the sometimes over powering spinach taste green smoothies can have. I do suggest halving it if you are not super hungry. This makes a large glass so it will defiantly fill you up.
Original recipe: Minimalist Baker - Favorite Green Smoothie
My version of the Green Smoothie:
- 1 medium banana
- 1/2 cup of blueberries
- 1/2 cup of strawberries
- 1 tbsp of flax seeds
- 1 tbsp of chia seeds
- 1.5 tbsp natural peanut butter
- 1/2 cup of coconut milk
- 2 cups of spinach
- 1 tsp of maple syrup
Blend it all together and enjoy!
