Yesterday I shared a recipe to make yeast dough from scratch. That would go perfectly with this quiche recipe. The quiche is delicate, yet full of flavor.
Can you think of a better combination than cheese, onion, and bacon?! Yea, neither can I.
I would pair this with a side salad, a glass of wine, some french music, and (voila) I'll be in Paris! Is that not how it works? Oh well, if I can't actually be in Paris, then this meal is the next closest thing!
Trader Joe's sells a bag of mixed cheese with Gruyere and Emmental that I would recommend if you are near one!
1 cup of Gruyere
1 cup of Emmental
½ cup of heavy cream
½ cup of plain yogurt
pinch of nut meg
1 large onion
2 slices of bacon
pre-made yeast dough
Preheat the oven to 400°F for 40 minutes, or until golden brown.
Sauté onion and bacon on medium low heat until soft and translucent. Set aside and let cool.
Mix the cream and yogurt together in a small bowl. Add the 2 eggs and whisk well.
Place onion and bacon into the prepared baking pan with dough.
Add cheese on top evenly.
Drizzle the cream, yogurt, egg mix on top.
