Banza Recipe for an Easy & Healthy Pasta Dinner!

Is there anything better than pasta? It's easy to make, filling, and comforting. I have been on a pasta kick lately. Ok, I'm always on a pasta kick! Can you blame me? I made this super easy dinner in just a few minutes with only a handful of ingredients. And since I used Banza pasta, it was a great source of fiber and protein. Now, that's a meal I can get behind on. I just used some cherry tomatoes I had on hand, chopped onions, and a slice of bacon. Replace the tomatoes with spinach, add a sauce, or stick with butter and cheese, your options are almost endless!

Of course, you can use whatever pasta you have on hand, but I like mixing my pasta dishes up with Banza occasionally. Made from chickpeas, it really tastes like regular pasta in my opinion. The only weird thing about it is that a lot of foam forms while you're boiling the pasta, but that's expected according to the box. :)

Makes 2 servings


  • 1 box of Banza pasta

  • a handful of cherry tomatoes halved

  • 1/2 of a small onion, diced

  • 1 garlic, minced

  • 1-2 slices of bacon

  • 1 tbsp of cooking oil

  • optional - parmesan cheese


  1. Bring a large pot of water to boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package.

  2. Add cooking oil (I used canola oil) to a pan over medium-low heat.

  3. Add diced onion and saute for a few minutes. Turn down heat if necessary. You don't want to burn them like I always manage to do.

  4. Add the garlic and saute for 1-2 minutes.

  5. Add the bacon and turn the heat up a little if you had lowered it earlier. Cook for a few minutes.

  6. Add the tomatoes and let everything simmer together for another minute or two.

  7. Remove the pasta from water, saving 1/4 cup of the water.

  8. Add the pasta and some of the cooking water to the pan.

  9. Mix together and pour into 2 bowls.

  10. Sprinkle cheese on top and enjoy!
